Grace and peace to all my brothers and sisters in Christ,
I had some physical tests done not too long ago. On reading the results of one of my tests, one word stood out to me. The physician made the comment “unremarkable”. In that moment, I had a decision to make. I could either allow this comment to unsettle my faith through fearful thoughts of what that could mean or I could focus on God. Truth be told, I chose the former for about 10 minutes as I am not med savvy and that term didn’t sound very promising. Gathering myself, I remembered something. The day before going for these test results I was actually reading about the mark or seal of the saints of God.
By definition, the word markable means “able to be marked”. In the English language, the “Re” at the front of a word usually means “to do again”. So, technically remarkable could also mean “able to be marked again”. Yes, I know the actual definition of the word but bear with me. I used this word to meaning correlation to remind myself that no matter what the world says, always bring it back to what the word of God says.
What does the word of God say?
“Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”
I seek to be among the blessed that are marked by God - Ezekiel 9:4
This mark protects the saints of God from the coming judgement - Revelation 7:3
Once you receive his mark, no one can mark you again. What do you become? “Unremarkable”.
Romans 4:11 embodies what the mark represents.
“And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also”.
This mark is a seal of faith.
Faith is our foundation.
Faith is the word of God.
Let the word of God be sealed in your heart - Isaiah 8:16
Receiving the testimony of the word, sets to your seal that God is true - John 3:33
The word unremarkable by definition means average. I am but just a man and nothing special. I am unremarkable but I serve a truly remarkable God. A God who can take the unremarkable and make them remarkable. Regardless of the circumstance, I choose to see God in all things.
May you all be sealed unto the day of redemption.
