Meditation moment: Laying down guilt

Many years ago, I dealt with anger problems. My patience was high but I would always keep things bottled up. Even though I never completely lost control, I knew what that anger was capable of if driven beyond a limit. One day I felt like I was nearing this point once more and said enough was enough. Something inside me said it was time to ask God to remove this spirit of anger. I said to God "I release this spirit of anger to you" with the belief that something would happen and I actually felt relief. This is not a problem I have struggled with since. We may not know exactly know how God works but he will meet us where we are.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

Psalms 51:10

Dealing with a guilty conscience requires brutal honesty with Jesus Christ. No excuses as these are strongholds attempting to manifest and prevent us from healing. We are all in need of healing. Not only are we in need but we deserve to heal. We deserve it because Christ made it so. Let your emotions pour out at his feet like the woman with the alabaster box. Our sins are many but Christ forgiveness is endless. His love wants to embrace and recover us.

“And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.”

1 Peter 4:8

When we release, we find peace. God desires to gives us peace for he is light and where there is light, there is peace. Our minds are at peace when our thoughts are brought into captivity to Christ. When we bring our deeds to the light, darkness no longer has the power to stand against us. May any spirit of guilt upon us all be replaced with peace.

“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”

Psalms 119:165

Beloved, thank you for meditating on the word of God. Have a blessed day.
