Going from strength to strength

These are trying times for all of us. Many have lost. Lives have been put on hold. The new world is positioning itself whether we are aware of it or not. Endurance is going to be required to overcome what lies ahead.

Surviving uncertain times requires us to exercise our faith. It sounds simple enough but only a few men made it through some of the darkest days with God’s seal of approval. These models of righteousness were Noah, Daniel and Job. Why did God think so highly of them to single them out?

Noah was a preacher of righteousness that was probably viewed as a madman by some and ignored by others as he built his ark to survive the great flood that was coming.

Daniel was a righteous prophet that kept himself sanctified by refraining from all the luxuries of the world and underwent severe persecution for his devotion.

Job was a righteous man that lost every thing one could lose as Satan tried to persuade him to give up on God.

All three men saw different stages of the same race. Noah was spared the end, Daniel was warned of the end to come and Job felt the brunt of what the end may feel like. They ran their race in faith and emerged victorious. Noah saved his family and would go on to create new life on earth, Daniel was made a King and Job would receive double the blessings for everything he lost. The combined victory of these three men can be seen in the victory of Jesus Christ when he overcame sin and death for us.

Walking with God takes a different kind of faith. A faith that can only come by the grace of Jesus Christ

There will be those who turn their back on you and call you crazy.

How does one become stronger? By trusting in God

Some may try to tempt you and call you extreme for not indulging in everything the world has to offer.

How does one become stronger? By prayer and fasting

Others may express that you’re not who you say you are and wish to see you “be like everyone else”.

How does one become stronger? By holding onto God even when things don’t make sense

We cannot control what others say, nor should we hold it against them. Simply pray that God changes their heart in the same way he changed ours.

Strong are the prayer warriors.

Strong are those willing to stand in the gap for their people.

Strong are those who walk in the appearance of weakness so that Christ may be glorified.

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

1 Corinthians 9:24

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:14

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us

Hebrews 12:1
