Does my life matter?

The world is an uproar. Since the beginning, mankind has been in a longstanding relationship with the rulers of this world and this generation is now waking up to the fact that they have been lied to. They feel hurt and have every reason to be. Hurt people hurt other people and now society wants to hurt those that created this pain. Uncomfortable conversations need to be had and the light is being shone on those hiding in high places (Ephesians 6:12). This is all well and good but a certain level of self examination must be done first. Why did it take witnessing injustice to acknowledge its existence? If a man dies in the street and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Two races have existed since the beginning of time – bond and free. Bond meaning the oppressed and free meaning those in power. Jesus Christ came to set us free so you can guess who held the power. This is a difficult topic to address because I was raised thinking I always needed to fight for being “black”. I have since come to realize this is a post 1619 mindset. Children of the Most High have always fought to be free of oppressive rulers, which the LORD only allowed when they failed obey his commandments.

When you forsake God, you become a slave to sin (John 8:32-34). Under oppression, man would repent, cry out to God (Exodus 3:9) to be set free and a remnant would be raised to lead them out of captivity. That was the routine for ages. We repeated the same mistakes throughout generations. If God is the same and never changes (Malachi 3:6), what are the chances of a carnal mankind changing their ways? My redeemer lives. When, the Son of man returns will he find faith (Luke 18:8) or a divided race?

The truth is there is no black man and white man but if we continue to hold on to this imperialistic mindset, we’ll always remain divided. We all came from the line of Adam (Galatians 3:28-29) with different shades based on the amount of melanin in our skin and geographical location. Racism is a created construct designed to control. Money was designed the same way. Africa has the majority of the world’s wealth in their soil so in reality they are the richest nations in the world. The world however defines riches by monetary value. Money is printed thus who owns the money has the power to define what holds value. If man created these constructs for segregation, then man can use it for unification. Does your life matter? Then make a change.
